Lion Farm Estate – Low-Rise Housing

As part of the continued development to the Lion Farm Estate, UDBS are carrying out refurbishment works to the low-rise housing blocks Windermere, Derwent, Coniston, Ullswater and Rydal with a project value of circa £11million.

The refurbishment will see the addition of a new floor to each block to provide 4 additional flats per block, designed to adoptable standards, as well as new lifts, new exterior elevational finishes, refurbishment of existing flats and associated landscaping and parking facilities. The proposed works will also see an upgrade to ventilation to all flats which will help to improve internal environments for tenants.

In addition to this the redevelopment will also see a refurbishment to the flats and shops block on Hartlebury Road. This will complete the redevelopment of the Lion Farm site and unify all the housing blocks.

Work on site has recently commenced with an expected completion date of Summer 2023.

UDBS have carried out the MDT design services from stage 2-5 and will continue to manage the project through construction to completion.
